While being away from competition due to pregnancy, Naomi Osaka is launching new projects and cooperations, the latest one being guided meditations for kids in partnership with Modern Health.
The four-time Grand Slam champion wrote on Instagram:
I’m excited for my child and all children to have access to meditations to help them build healthy habits early. I’m glad that I’m able to help make something like this accessible to kids all over.

During the 2021 French Open, Osaka became an unintentional spokesperson on the topic of mental health when she made a shocking decision to withdraw from the Grand Slam in order to protect her emotional well-being. Having joined the Modern Health family, the tennis star helps train and empower underrepresented providers, improves access to evidence-based mental health care, and promotes community well-being.
One of the organization’s first initiatives is a series of personalized meditation tools narrated by Osaka’s calm voice, which can be accessed for free by both Modern Health members and non-members. Interestingly, the former WTA world No.1 is relatively new to meditation and it took her some time and effort to get used to it:
I came more recently to meditation and although now I find it to be very helpful, I didn’t at first. Alongside Modern Health’s clinical team I have created this meditation for those people who are perhaps unsure of meditation or newer to this practice. I want everyone to have the opportunity to start somewhere.
Modern Health is also the official mental health partner of the WTA. They announced a multi-year partnership in March 2022.
