Wilson has released the first version of tennis racquets in the new Shift franchise, focused on delivering exceptional spin and power. The WILSON LABS team conducted a thorough three-phase testing process, incorporating feedback from athletes and consumers worldwide. The perfected final product is available now.
The highly innovative, patent-pending, ARC 3D frame technology optimizes lateral bending like no racquet ever before. That, paired with best-in-class stability, provides players with the ability to hit heavy spin.
Through extensive testing of the Shift prototype, Wilson gained valuable insights, leading to three significant modifications:
- Wilson adjusted the balance point of the Shift 99, elevating the sweet spot location on the frame while increasing the swing weight.
- Responding to the needs of players seeking a lighter option, Wilson introduced the Shift 99L version of the racquet, set to be launched on September 1.
- In response to the overwhelmingly positive feedback from athletes, Wilson retained the arctic ice design, complete with the color-shifting, prism texture.
“At Wilson, innovation is a driving force in all that we do,” said Jason Collins, Global General Manager of Wilson Racquet Sports. “Getting player insights from our global tennis community on the Shift prototype earlier this year has allowed us to launch an even more remarkable racquet. We’re excited to have players experience this revolutionary spin technology.”
