Sunday marked an extraordinary evening in Washington D.C. with the return of Citi Taste of Tennis. The official player party of the Mubadala Citi D.C. Open was hosted by Jessica Pegula and Tennis Channel’s Nick Monroe alongside chef Kevin Tien.
Pro tennis players sampled incredible cuisine including jackfruit tacos and braised beef slides made by renowned chefs. A lot of WTA and ATP stars were in attendance, including Elena Svitolina with her husband Gael Monfils, Belina Bencic, Marta Kostyuk, Liudmila Samsonova, and Nicole Melichar-Martinez.
The world No.4 Pegula wore a black mock-neck tank and light wash split hem wide leg jeans as she hosted this event on the evening of July 30th.
On Day 1 of the Mubadala Citi DC Open, Svitolina will play her first hard-court match since Miami 2022. Her opponent will be Victoria Azarenka, whom the new mom on tour recently defeated in the fourth round of Wimbledon. There will be no handshake between the Ukrainian and Belarusian player, which will be officially announced to the audience ahead of the match.
Throughout the evening, guests sipped on delicious espresso cocktails from Segafredo Zanetti Coffee, bubbles from Zonin USA while VOSS’ custom bedazzled bottles added a bit of sparkle to the evening.
Upon arrival, guests were welcomed into La Vie’s elegant Mediterranean-coastal ambiance, set alongside the Southwest Waterfront in Washington DC’s Wharf District.
As the night continued, guests mingled with their favorite tennis stars while enjoying endless food from DC’s best chefs, all set to the tunes of talented singer/songwriter Najah Lewis, musician BJ Simmons and DJ Mad Linx.
