Upon her arrival in Cancun for the WTA Finals, world No.1 Aryna Sabalenka was taken aback by the inadequate resources available for players to properly prepare for this prestigious tournament.

Her coach Anton Dubrov posted on his Instagram story a video of one practice court and wrote: “Two practice courts til Saturday, one stringer on site.” Sabalenka shared his story on her profile and thus expressed her disappointment with facilities available for elite players at the WTA Finals.

The 2023 WTA Finals will take place from October 29 to November 5 at the Plaza Quintana Roo in Cancun. The draw features the season’s Top 8 singles players and doubles teams. The singles champion will win the WTA Finals Billie Jean King Trophy and the doubles champions will take home the WTA Finals Martina Navratilova Trophy.
