At the Balmain fashion show on February 28, Serena exuded sophistication in a mid-length black-and-white dress adorned with a striking full-length rose motif that cascaded from top to bottom on the front. Her main accessory was an Audemars Piguet watch. It was a night to remember that Serena spent with fellow A-listers, including music icon Cher.

Backstage, Serena shared her thoughts with Vogue France about the upcoming Olympics, expressing a sense of disbelief that the Games were not held in Paris during her active playing career: “I can’t believe the Olympics weren’t in Paris when I was playing. But they decided to do it when I… evolved.” Serena’s choice not to use the word ‘retirement’ is significant, suggesting that her transition from the tennis court to other endeavors represents not an end, but a transformation and growth into a new phase of her life.

Continuing the black-and-white style narrative, Serena greeted Paris with a confident “bonsoir” as she showed up at the Off-White fashion show on February 29. The 23-time Grand Slam champion made heads turn in a tight-fitting black dress with lots of cutouts, especially on the sleeves, paired with a varsity-style jacket and strappy pumps.

“Thank you for having me Off-White 🖤🤍 #VirgilForever,” the tennis legend captioned an Instagram photo from the event that was also attended by Willow Smith, Tyga, and other celebs. The hashtag pays tribute to the label’s late founder, Virgil Abloh, Serena’s close friend who passed away from cancer in 2021.
