Retired Serbian tennis star Jovana Jovic (née Jaksic) today announced on Instagram that she and her husband Vujadin are expecting their first child together, a baby boy, in early October 2024. Adding to the joy, their journey into parenthood comes after many years as a couple, and it’s especially remarkable given that Vujadin became a grandfather last June.

The pregnancy announcement was accompanied by a beautiful photo of Jovana and her partner at their home in Sacramento, California. In the picture, her husband is lovingly hugging her from behind, while she holds up ultrasound pictures of their unborn child. Jovana’s caption exudes excitement as she shares this special moment with her followers, even playfully mentioning their pet dog Beka’s reaction to becoming a big sister. The hashtags reveal that the 30-year-old is 15 weeks pregnant.

Jovana and her husband Vujadin Jovic have shared a long and loving relationship, dating for three years before exchanging vows in 2019. Despite Vujadin being 23 years older than Jovana, the age difference seems to complement their relationship perfectly. Adding to their story, Vujadin celebrated becoming a grandfather last June, joyfully introducing his first grandchild on Instagram with the caption: “Newest addition to Jovic family, Malina Grace Jovic. Blessed to welcome my first grandchild healthy and mild mannered as can be.” In the comments back then, Jovana hinted that they were planning to have a baby as well, so the pregnancy news is not a surprise.
The highlight of Jovana’s career was the 2014 Monterrey final where she lost to compatriot Ana Ivanovic. Her career-high ranking was No.102, achieved in May 2014. Her journey in professional tennis came to a close in March 2021, culminating in her official retirement announcement in March 2022.
