While most fans are locked into the US Open, there’s another professional tennis tournament coming up for pros who hope to one day play in Arthur Ashe Stadium. From August 29 to September 1, 2025, the UTR Pro Summer Slam National Championships at the University of San Diego will showcase the brightest rising stars in women’s tennis.

With $25,000 prize money per event and guaranteed matches, the UTR Pro Tennis Tour (UTR PTT) is rapidly becoming the go-to pathway for aspiring pros with 61 UTR PTT players in the 2025 US Open men’s and women’s singles draws (11 in the women’s main draw alone).

The UTR PTT has already helped stars like McCartney Kessler, a three-time finalist, Taylor Townsend, a 2022 champion, and Darja Semenistaja, a two-time winner. These players are showing that the UTR PTT isn’t just a stepping stone—it’s a proving ground for women ready to compete on the WTA Tour.

The upcoming Summer Slam Championships wrap up a 15-week, $450,000 UTR Pro Summer Slam series held at college campuses nationwide. Only players who win a Summer Slam event earn automatic entry, making this an elite, must-watch competition.

Hosting UTR PTT tournaments at college campuses like the University of San Diego brings pro tennis closer to home while giving players access to prize money and quality match experience. Fans get intimate courtside action, making it a unique chance to watch rising stars up close.

The UTR PTT isn’t your typical tour. It focuses on development, opportunity, and accessibility with guaranteed matches and prize money at 450+ events a year in 30+ countries worldwide for aspiring pros ranked 200-2,000 by UTR Rating. Matches are streamed live on Amazon Prime Video.
