Linda Noskova fought back tears as she celebrated the biggest victory of her career with an emotional tribute to her late mother after showing remarkable composure to survive a dramatic Wimbledon final. The 21-year-old regrouped in the deciding set after failing to convert five championship points in the second, eventually defeating fellow Czech Karolina Muchova to claim her first Grand Slam title.

Trophy ceremonies are often touching, but Noskova’s was especially moving as she dedicated the biggest victory of her career to her late mother.
Noskova’s mother, Ivana, passed away in the summer of 2024 after a long battle with cancer. Her death came on the eve of her daughter’s Wimbledon campaign and Olympic debut at the Paris Games. Two years later, Noskova has broken into the WTA Top 10 and captured her maiden Grand Slam title by lifting the 2026 Wimbledon trophy. With her father, Drahos Nosek, watching from the players’ box, the triumph at the All England Club felt like the crowning moment of the young Czech’s rapidly rising career.

“I want to thank my dad for coming here, my family for flying here – I know you don’t like flying so I appreciate it,” Noskova said while holding the Venus Rosewater Dish, her voice trembling after defeating compatriot Muchova 6-2 5-7 6-3 in the first all-Czech women’s Grand Slam final of the Open Era.
“There is one more person I’d like to thank,” Noskova continued, barely holding back tears as she looked toward the sky and blew a kiss. “I’d like to thank my mom. I would definitely not be standing here without her, so thank you very much.”
