Playing her first tournament since undergoing a “small surgery,” Karolina Muchova partnered with fellow Czech Jakub Mensik and went all the way to the title at the US Open Mixed Doubles Championship, claiming $1 million in prize money as a team.

The pair opened the fast-paced, reimagined version of mixed doubles with a win over Kristina Mladenovic and Marcelo Arevalo, then defeated Emma Navarro and Tommy Paul in the quarterfinals. In the semifinals, Muchova and Mensik saved two match points against Mirra Andreeva and Andrey Rublev before Mensik fired a 131 mph ace on their third championship point to seal a 6-3 1-6 10-6 victory over Belinda Bencic and Flavio Cobolli in the final.
The victory marks a first Grand Slam title for both players and comes just over six weeks after Muchova was beaten by compatriot Linda Noskova in the Wimbledon final. Funny enough, Mensik’s first-ever senior mixed doubles match came just one day before he became a Grand Slam mixed doubles champion.
Muchova and Mensik coordinated their on-court looks in matching Adidas outfits from the New York collection. Muchova wore the Adidas Fall Pro 3D Tank, a distinctive top which features elevated 3D capsules designed to enhance airflow, and she paired it with the maroon Adidas Fall Pro Short.
