Marta Kostyuk got married almost three years ago, at the young age of 21, and little has been known about her husband, George Kyzymenko. The two have known each other since childhood, eventually lost touch, but then reconnected in 2022, and not long afterwards the wedding bells were ringing.

Tennis linked them from an early age
Kostyuk was only four years old when she first met Kyzymenko, who was nine at the time. They were both training at the same tennis club in Kyiv, but their childhood connection did not immediately develop into a strong bond. As they grew up, their lives took them in different directions. Kyzymenko eventually moved to the U.S. to study, while Kostyuk focused on building her professional tennis career.
Cyprus wedding in 2023
Everything changed in 2022, when Kostyuk returned to Ukraine. Kyzymenko reached out, asked her on a date, and the rest is history. “We weren’t really in contact, but when I went back to Ukraine in 2022 he called me for a date, and, yeah—that was it,” Kostyuk told Vogue. “Five months later, he proposed.”
The couple didn’t wait long to tie the knot, marrying in Cyprus in November 2023, when Kostyuk famously walked down the aisle in a wedding dress designed by her tennis equipment sponsor, Wilson.
