Aryna Sabalenka has become the second player to qualify for the 2026 WTA Finals in Indian Wells, securing her place at the prestigious season-ending event for the sixth consecutive year.
The WTA has officially announced Sabalenka’s qualification, with the Belarusian joining Elena Rybakina, who recently replaced her as world No. 1 and ended her bid for a third consecutive US Open title.
Rybakina also defeated Sabalenka in last year’s WTA Finals Riyadh championship match. Sabalenka has so far reached the final of the prestigious event twice, finishing runner-up to Caroline Garcia in 2022 and Rybakina in 2025.
Since 2003, only Agnieszka Radwanska has previously recorded six consecutive WTA Finals singles appearances, doing so from 2011 through 2016.
Sabalenka’s impressive 2026 season has seen her reach five WTA Tour finals, winning three titles. She opened the year by capturing the Brisbane International title, then went on to win back-to-back WTA 1000 trophies at the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells and the Miami Open presented by Itaú.
She has also produced consistently strong results at the Grand Slams, reaching the finals of both the Australian Open and US Open and advancing to the quarterfinals at Roland Garros.
