The US Open turned out to be the last tournament of Amanda Anisimova‘s 2026 season, as the American has announced that a recurring wrist injury has forced her to cut her year short.

“I will be wrapping up my season for the year. I sustained a wrist injury again, that I need to take care of. Time to get healthy, reset, and see you all in 2027,” the world No. 11 Anisimova wrote on Instagram.

After losing to Anastasia Potapova in the third round of the US Open, Anisimova was scheduled to begin her Asian swing at last week’s Singapore Tennis Open, but the two-time Grand Slam finalist withdrew shortly before her opening match due to a left wrist issue. Over the weekend, she also confirmed that she would not be defending her title at the China Open in Beijing.

The 25-year-old finishes the 2026 season after playing 34 matches and compiling a 22-12 record. She did not win a title this year, with her only semifinal appearance coming in Dubai, where she fell to Jessica Pegula. At the Grand Slam level, Anisimova’s best result of the season came at the Australian Open, where she reached the quarterfinals.
