Serena makes strong start at the Australian Open

Her sister was one of the big-name casualties on the first day of the 2014 Australian Open, but Serena Williams is far from showing any kinds of weakness, having improved to 53-1 in Grand Slam openers and 23 matches in a row by beating Australian wildcard Ashleigh Barty 6-2 6-1. The five-time Australian Open champion Williams won 100%, that is all 20 points on her serve, hit 31 winner to just five unforced errors and never faced a break point in the 57-minute encounter with Barty.

Regarding Williams’ Nike dress, I didn’t know its back would be black, from the preview photos we had seen I though that just the sides were black. But it is a positive twist, plus I adore the V shape of the back, and I love the dots all over the dress.
