Serena Williams

Serena Williams continued her ruining of Daniela Hantuchova‘s Grand Slam career by easing past the Slovakian 6-3 6-3 into the fourth round of the Australian Open, thus making two records – scoring her 61st career match win at the tournament, a record at the Australian Open, and equaling Lindsay Davenport with most career matches played at the Australian Open, 69.

I started the article the way I did because of this Hantuchova’s statement for Tennis.com:

They [the Williams sisters] kind of ruined my Grand Slam career, especially the years when I was playing really well I always had to play her or Venus. The only time I made the [Grand Slam] semis was [at the Australian Open] in 2008 when I didn’t have to play either of them in the quarters.

Hantuchova has lost to Serena 9 out of 10 times and to Venus 10 out of 11 times.
