Remember Alona Bondarenko? I sure do, since she was a young star rocking tennis courts at the time I started writing this blog, but in July 2010 she got married to her coach Nikolay Dyachok and little has been known about her ever since. She did play tournaments until October 2011, but had somehow fallen out of the limelight.
Finally we received a nice update about the Ukraine’s former No.1, who won two WTA titles and used to be ranked as high as No.19 back in 2008 — on May 30th, 2015, she gave birth to son Evgen.
By the way, Alona’s two years younger sister Kateryna, with whom she won the 2008 Australian Open doubles title, also got married, in September 2011, to Denis Volodko, became a mom, and has worked on her comeback trail for over a year. I doubt that Alona will do the same, as she’s been away for so long, she’s older than Kateryna and she has just given birth.
Congratulations to Alona! Well, there are possible comebacks maybe not this time for her since she just gave birth. Any photos of the baby?
Emman Damian, I have no photos of the baby, yet. This photo from the hospital I found on Alona’s Facebook profile, but there are no new pics.
