On Saturday, July 25th, another WTA star joined the world of married women as Dutch Michaella Krajicek said “yes” to the love of her life Martin Emmrich, who had famously proposed to her in front of the crowd at last year’s Topshelf Open in June. The two have been an item since 2013.

A number of Michaella’s WTA colleagues attended the wedding, while the most excited about the marriage seemed to be the recently-divorced Czech Iveta Benesova, who shared several photos on Twitter and Instagram and expressed excitement about her friend tying the knot:

It was a beautiful wedding ceremony. Touched my heart very deep. Cried like a baby. Grateful to have you by my side, Nicole Vaidisova. Through good and bad, up and downs, we walk together. #friendship #wedding #grateful

Kristina Mladenovic was also there.

A day before the wedding there was a bachalorette party in Prague, the Czech Republic (Michaella’s residence, the native country of her parents) and many Czech women’s tennis stars were there: Barbora Strycova, Karolina Pliskova, Nicole Vaidisova, Iveta Benesova, Marta Domachowska. As you know, quite a few of Michaella’s WTA friends went through divorce, but we’re wishing her the best of luck not to fall into that category ever.

Michaella celebrated her last night of being single with karaoke & dance.

I’m glad to add this joyous couple’s marriage to Women’s Tennis Blog’s WTA Players and their Love Partners category.

  1. Congrats. It is nice that we see more players who get married than players who want to divorce. It is going right way
