The final of the 2015 Prudential Hong Kong Tennis Open is set with Angelique Kerber & Jelena Jankovic emerging as the last two players in the tournament’s 32-player draw.

Kerber made her way into her fifth final this season by getting past Australia’s Samantha Stosur in the semis on Saturday. Just as in all her matches this week, the German was in firm control of her match, clinching another impressive straight-set win.

By making the Hong Kong final, Kerber is almost securely locked into the WTA Finals in Singapore, as Carla Suarrez Navarro would need to win Moscow to pass Kerber by in case she loses the final. Should the German win on Sunday, her ticket to Singapore will be secure either way.

While Singapore is nothing to worry about for Jelena Jankovic, the Serbian is having an equally impressive week in Hong Kong that continued with a strong performance against Venus Williams on Saturday. Playing in front of an enthusiastic capacity crowd, Jankovic decided a hotly-contested straight-set match in her favor, reaching her third final this season following a final appearance in Indian Wells and a successful title run in Guangzhou last month.

Women’s Tennis Blog will take you all the way to the trophy ceremony tomorrow, so check back for the exciting conclusion of the 2015 Prudential Hong Kong Tennis Open!
