World No.16 Roberta Vinci claimed her 10th WTA title with a straightforward 6-4 6-3 victory over top-seeded Belinda Bencic in the final of the Premier-level St. Petersburg Ladies Trophy.

The second-seeded Vinci had to save a break point in the opening game of the match, still, the Italian raced to a 3-0 lead and even though Bencic managed to level later on, at 4-4, the Swiss dropped serve in the tenth game and gave the set to Vinci. In the second set it was again Vinci who took charge in the beginning, going up 4-1, and this time Bencic never even managed to approach her. The 32-year-old Vinci finished the match with 32 winners and just 12 unforced errors. Final score: 6-4 6-3.

The triumph has earned Vinci $128,450 and she is projected to rise to No.13 in the rankings. (photo: Jimmie48)
