On Wednesday, my photographer Jimmie48 captured the continuation of the first round of qualifying at the 2017 French Open and he also sighted practices of main-draw players such as Rome champion Elina Svitolina, Caroline Wozniacki, who retired at the start of her first-round match this week at the Internationaux de Strasbourg, citing a back injury, Simona Halep, who injured her right ankle during the Rome final and was said to be “50/50” to compete at Roland Garros, and Eugenie Bouchard, who left this week’s Nürnberg tournament on crutches and said she needed a miracle to be ready for the French Open, but today she was all smiles practicing on Lenglen.

  1. I think these players are really trying to have the best preparation for the second slam of the year. I think Laura Siegemund already withdrew from RG. It’s just funny that Genie was on crutches then the following day is practicing already. That is a “miracle” indeed.

  2. Emman Damian, lol yes, a miracle happened! 🙂 Unfortunately, Laura Siegemund had to withdraw. It’s such a pity after her stunning performance in Stuttgart.
