Twenty-five-year-old Andreea Mitu is joining an ever-growing list of WTA moms, being three months pregnant! The Romanian shared the news on Instagram, posting the below pic with a pregnant lady emoticon. I’d like to thank my reader Frank for telling me about this!
Andreea and her fiancé will become parents early next year, while they’re planning to get married before the baby arrives.
Andreea, who reached her highest WTA ranking of No.68 in 2015, played her last match back in May, at the $25,000 Caserta ITF tournament in Italy.

I’ve been writing this blog for more then ten years and the last two have definitely had way more marriages/babies than the previous years. Victoria Azarenka has just returned to the tour after giving birth to son Leo, Serena Williams is expecting to deliver any time now, while Mandy Minella famously played Wimbledon while being four and a half months pregnant. Moreover, over the weekend we had two marriages, of Agnieszka Radwanska and Andrea Hlavackova, while just a few days later Canada’s Aleksandra Wozniak announced her engagement on Twitter.
