Persistent rain on Tuesday caused most of the second half of the first-round play to be cancelled at the 2017 US Open. Only the action in Arthur Ashe Stadium was not affected, thanks to the roof that was unveiled last year, so fans were able to enjoy several WTA matches, including Naomi Osaka‘s stunning victory over defending champion Angelique Kerber and world No.1 Karolina Pliskova‘s win over Magda Linette.

Aljona is playing well again. Hoping she’ll go far in this tournament. Commendation as well to Madison Keys. I know she’ll eventually peak at US Open. Too bad for Angie! At least the pressure is off her chest now. Naomi did play well!
