Maria Sharapova arrived at the 2017 US Open on Wednesday. Entering the event with a main-draw wildcard, the 2006 champion is making her first appearance at Flushing Meadows since 2014, having missed out on the past two editions due to injury and doping suspension.
After playing only one match following the clay season, Sharapova started her US Open preparation during the tournament’s first qualifying round. We also saw defending champion Angelique Kerber on the practice courts, as well as Julia Goerges.
