Retired Serbian tennis star Ana Ivanovic gave birth to a baby boy named Luka on Saturday, March 17th in Chicago, the city in which she’s been living since her soccer playing husband Bastian Schweinsteiger started playing for Chicago Fire.
Ana and Basti married in July 2016 in Venice, Italy, and the news about Ana’s pregnancy was confirmed in November 2017. The Grand Slam champion never exposed her baby bump and opted to keep it descreetly hidden in her social media postings, but we did notice it several times, including when she took a stroll with her husband in Chicago a month and a half ago.
Even though it was speculated right a way that the baby is a boy, Ana never confirmed it, but now we know for sure. Luka, welcome to the world!
For the tennis world already picturing a great Ana Ivanovic descendant on the courts, we have to disappoint you, as the former No.1 recently stated for Italian magazine Grazia that she wouldn’t like her son to be a tennis player, as it is a life without a normal childhood and full of sacrifices.
Congrats to Ana on the baby. That also will explain why Bastian wasn’t in Minnesota for the game that day.
P!nky, yes, he was missing because of the arrival of his son.
Her baby maybe will be a future football player like Bastian? Or maybe if she has a baby girl in the future, it will be a future tennis player. Who knows? It can still change.
Congrats! Welcome to the world baby Luka.
