After about three years of dating, tennis star Caroline Wozniacki and former professional basketball player David Lee got married at Castiglion del Bosco in Italy on Saturday, June 15th.
The Australian Open champion shared this fireworks photo on her Instagram, saying: “The best weekend of my life.”
There were about 120 friends and family members at the wedding that took place in the hills outside of Florence.
The star-studded guest list included WTA players Serena Williams, Agnieszka Radwanska, Urszula Radwanska, Angelique Kerber and Nicole Gibbs.
The 28-year-old Wozniacki wanted a dress that was both romantic and girly, plus lace oriented with structure. Oscar de la Renta co-creative directors Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia stepped in and created a custom embroidered gown with Lyon lace, accessorized with a classic cathedral length tulle veil. Custom Jimmy Choo heels completed the bride’s wedding look. Vogue released photos from Wozniacki’s fitting in New York.
After meeting in Miami through a mutual friend at a group dinner some three and a half years ago, Wozniacki and the former San Antonio Spurs player got engaged in Bora Bora in November 2017, while two months ago the former WTA No.1 celebrated her bachelorette party with a trip to the Bahamas and the famous Pig Beach in Exuma.
It’s so rewarding to see Wozniacki married and happy, especially after all she went through five years ago, when golfer Rory McIlroy dumped her over the phone after they had sent out their wedding invitations.
