Retired tennis player Caroline Wozniacki presents a new sneaker that her sponsor Adidas created in collaboration with Prada. The model is called Luna Rossa 21. It draws inspiration from the world of competitive sailing, as well as iconic Adidas and Prada sneakers from the past.

The sneaker is called after Prada’s sailing team and their boat. Yes, Prada has had a sailing team since 1997! While the performance-focused shoes will be worn in competition by the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli Team, a lifestyle version will be available for purchase.

The design process took over a year, as Adidas and Prada went through their extensive archives and incorporated the feedback from sailors to synergize the design and performance expertise of both companies.

The branding is very subtle. Adidas’ silver three stripes peek through the shoe’s sheer upper, while Prada’s red stripe is on the heel.

The Adidas x Prada Luna Rossa 21 launches globally in a white colorway on December 9th via Prada boutiques and Adidas flagship stores worldwide, alongside selected wholesalers. The range is also available at the official websites of the brands.
