Former WTA doubles No.1 Barbora Strycova is expecting her first child with partner Petr Matejcek.

The tennis star announced the news on social media. Wearing a leisurely collared dress, Nike sneakers and a messy top bun, the 34-year-old Strycova enjoyed the sunshine in the backyard and announced her pregnancy to the world. The Czech exposed her baby bump and said: “There will be a three of us.”

Lucie Safarova, Sania Mirza, Andrea Petkovic, Petra Kvitova, Carla Suarez Navarro, Simona Halep, Donna Vekic were quick to congratulate their WTA colleague on social media.

Barbora has been dating Petr for a few years now. I’m not sure if the information is still relevant, but I know him as Elle magazine’s editor in the Czech Republic. Do any of our Czech readers have updates? Tell us in the comments.

Talking to the WTA during the 2019 US Open, Strycova told us a bit more about her relationship dynamics:

He goes with me to the shops, and we talk about fashion. He tells me his opinion and sometimes he knows much more about it, because he can tell me all the stories about Chanel, Dior, and other designers I don’t even know. Then, I can see a t-shirt and know the story behind it, and why it’s so expensive! I still don’t buy it!

From 2006 to 2015 Strycova was married to former tennis player and her coach Jakub Zahlava.
