Barbora Strycova, the former doubles WTA No.1, has welcomed her second child, a baby girl named Josefina, into the world. The Czech tennis player, who retired for the second time last year shortly after winning the Wimbledon women’s doubles title, took to Instagram to share the delightful news, posting a heartwarming photo of her newborn wrapped snugly in a blanket. Notably, she included the hashtag “happy mother’s day,” hinting that the baby girl’s arrival coincided with May 12, Mother’s Day.
The 38-year-old Strycova announced her second pregnancy in November of last year through an Instagram post. In the photo, she is dressed in a bikini, playing in the sand on the beach with her son Vincent, captioning it with the joyful news that “Vincent is gonna be a big brother.” The boy, born in September 2021, is now two and a half years old. Strycova’s long-term partner, Petr Matejcek, has been by her side throughout this journey.
