Fresh off winning a silver medal at the Tokyo Olympics, Marketa Vondrousova got engaged to her long-time boyfriend Stepan Simek.

The 2019 French Open finalist announced the news on Instagram, as she posed with her partner and lifted her right hand to show the engagement ring. The caption reads: “My forever.”

Kristina Mladenovic, Kiki Bertens, Marta Kostyuk, CiCi Bellis and Katie Swan were among the first WTA players to congratulate their colleague.

Marketa and Stepan have taken their relationship to the next level after more than five years of dating. The Czech couple’s oldest photo on Vondrousova’s Instagram account dates back to April 2016.

The 24-year-old Stepan is two years Marketa’s senior. He is also a tennis player.

The world No.42 Marketa is scheduled to play next week’s Western & Southern Open in Cincinnati, followed by the US Open.
