Just hours after her sister Serena pulled out of the US Open, Venus Williams is joining the injured list and will not be able to play the final Grand Slam of the season. Making the unfortunate announcement, the tennis champion revealed that she would like to meet some guys now and described the type of man she would like to meet.

In a video message on social media, the American stated that she’s been having some issues with her leg this whole summer and just couldn’t work through it. “This time I just couldn’t make any miracles work,” the 2000 and 2001 US Open champion explained.

Williams was supposed to be a wildcard entry this year. The US Open is her favorite major, but this season it was not meant to be. The timing of her comeback is still uncertain. She’ll do her best to return to competition as soon as possible.

This week, Williams was playing the WTA Chicago Women’s Open and lost in the first round to Hsieh Su-Wei.

During her video message, the 41-year-old joked that she would now like to use her rare free time to date. She is accepting applications from bachelors above 5-feet tall, smart but not smarter than her, employed, and not too talkative. (photo: Jimmie48)

  1. Jim, she is very secretive about her love life. That golfer was in the picture, yes, but that was more than 10 years ago.
