Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina has created an NFT to help and support people affected by war in her home country.
After her first-round match at the recent 2022 Abierto GNP Seguros tournament in Monterrey, Mexico, Svitolina wrote “Ukraine” on an acrylic. Currently up for auction on Opensea, patrons can bid to win the NFT video of Elina Svitolina signing the acrylic, the original acrylic, as well as a 10-minute virtual meet and greet with the WTA star.
Svitolina recently vowed to donate prize money from her upcoming tennis tournaments to support army and humanitarian needs in Ukraine. This NFT is a further effort to raise awareness and financially support the Ukranian community.
“I think it’s my mission to unite our tennis community to stand with Ukraine because what we’re going through is a horrible thing for all Ukrainians,” Svitolina recently stated.
The auction concludes March 25, 11.15 p.m. CET.
