After famously conquering Serena Williams in the first round of Wimbledon, France’s Harmony Tan continues to roll, her latest victory being a 50-minute thrashing of Great Britain’s Katie Boulter in the third round on Saturday.
Playing in the main draw of Wimbledon for the first time, the world No.115 Tan upset Serena Williams in an epic encounter, followed it up with a straight-set victory over seed No.32 Sara Sorribes Tormo and then stormed past Katie Boulter 6-1 6-1.
In the previous round, the world No.118 Boulter eliminated last year’s finalist Karolina Pliskova, but she had nothing to give in her first third-round appearance at a Grand Slam, as Tan produced a flawless performance.
Boulter was bidding to win three Tour-level matches in a row for the first time in her career. Tan’s opponent in the fourth round will be Amanda Anisimova, who defeated fellow American Coco Gauff later on Saturday.
