While she’s still not commenting on her recent divorce, Simona Halep is updating us about her health. The former world No.1 has undergone a nose surgery, in order to improve breathing, but her doctor also used the opportunity to perform rhinoplasty.
Following her first-round US Open exit, Halep decided to handle her breathing difficulties, which were especially prominent at night, when her nose was completely blocked. The problem escalated in summer, especially in Washington, as the tennis star explained on social media.
Hi guys, I have an important message for you. See you soon on the tennis court ❤️ pic.twitter.com/LhAUNtM67e

The 30-year-old Halep surrendered her trust to doctor Daniel Popescu, who not only helped the Romanian WTA player solve her breathing issues that had bothered her for a while, but he also made some aesthetic alternations as he has “taken this opportunity to also make a plastic surgery intervention.” As you can see in the above photo, taken at the National Bank Open in August, Halep has always had a nice nose, so we assume that aesthetic changes are really minor.
A few weeks of rest are now necessary for Halep to completely recover and be ready to resume physical activities. “See you soon on the court,” Halep wrote in a message to her fans.
