Tennis couple Elina Svitolina and Gael Monfils welcomed their first child, a baby girl named Skaï. The Ukrainian WTA player and the French ATP player shared the happy news on Instagram, by posting a photo of the newborn’s hand.
Monfils expressed how proud he was of his wife for being so strong and brave during what he called the most amazing night of his life. Based on his post, we know that the little princess arrived at 6 a.m.
Svitolina thanked her partner for being by her side during this intense experience of her life:

When Svitolina announced her pregnancy in May, the former world No.3 revealed that her due date was October, so everything went as expected.
Svitolina and Monfils got married in July 2021, three and a half months after getting engaged. The last tournament Svitolina played was the 2022 Miami Open, where she lost in the second round to Great Britain’s Heather Watson. The two-time Grand Slam semifinalist’s current ranking is No.164.
