During the trophy ceremony at The Championships, Vondrousova revealed that she had made a bet with her coach that if she won the Grand Slam he would get a tattoo. The coach didn’t seem too excited about getting inked, but a deal is a deal. Then they decided to have matching “little strawberry” tattoos, paying homage to the classic Wimbledon dessert.

The initial plan was to get tattoos in London on Sunday, the day after the women’s singles final. Instead, they will do it in Prague at a later date. Vondrousova already has dozens of tattoos on her body, making her the most tattooed Wimbledon champion.

Vondrousova became the first unseeded Wimbledon ladies’ singles champion in the Open Era. The triumph has helped the Czech player crack the Top 10 WTA rankings. (source: BBC)
