Russian tennis players Anastasia Potapova and Alexander Shevchenko are engaged! After about ten months of being together, the 22-year-olds are now set to embark on the next chapter of their journey together.

The couple shared the joyous news on Instagram, taking a selfie together, with Potapova showing her beautiful engagement ring. The caption features no words, just three emojis: a red heart, an engagement ring and a symbol for forever.

During an interview with David Kane of Tennis.com at this year’s Roland Garros in early June, world No.27 Potapova disclosed that she had been in a relationship with Shevchenko for six months at that point. This suggests that they have now been together for about ten months. The WTA player then also explained that they manage to spend a lot of time together, despite their busy schedules all around the world.

Potapova appreciates having a partner who understands the demands of the tennis lifestyle consistently by her side:

It’s really helpful to have someone who can support you, not just on your team, but someone you’re close to. He’s someone who not only knows tennis but also wants what is best for you.

Since starting their relationship, both Potapova and Shevchenko have reached their career-high rankings of No.21 and No.83, respectively.
