“All my fairy tale dreams coming true on this one spectacular evening,” Maria Sharapova expressed on Instagram, extending her gratitude to the myriad of artists and brands that contributed to her stunning appearance. She donned a Prabal Gurung dress adorned with Chopard jewelry. The designer of Sharapova’s breathtaking gown drew inspiration from ‘Sleeping Beauty’ and the ‘Garden of Time,’ blending delicate floral elements. Additionally, he collaborated with luxury bedding brand Boll & Branch to complete the look.

Serena Williams made a stunning entrance in a dramatic gold Balenciaga gown, meticulously crafted by the atelier over 150 hours of pattern-making. The couture piece was fashioned from 25 meters of gold foil-laminated taffeta sourced from Italy. The American tennis legend complemented her look with black gloves and elegant gold hair accessories.

Adhering to the dress code, she adorned her wrist with an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak watch. Reflecting on her ensemble, Williams remarked, “I love how the sand gold color plays off my dress and how its tone changes depending on the angle and light.”

Venus Williams stunned in a Marc Jacobs dress adorned with broken mirrors. The gown, though grand and intricately detailed with tiny mirrors, was intentionally designed to challenge the ease of couture wear.

“It’s based off the theme of today, we’re showing all these dresses that are too fragile to wear,” Williams explained to Live From E!’s Ross Mathews on the red carpet, in line with the “Garden of Time” dress code. “So he wanted to bring in the fragility of mirrors—I only broke one,” she added, noting that the mishap occurred while she was zipping up.

Notably, Venus made her Met Gala debut in 2004, becoming the first athlete to attend this glamorous event in New York.
