Since Marta Kostyuk became Wilson’s first head-to-toe brand ambassador in January 2023, the label has ascended in the tennis fashion world with a stream of striking collections. The newest showpiece, the ombre blue Headliner Tennis Dress, stands among the most captivating designs in recent years.
At the hard-court tournaments leading up to the US Open, the 23-year-old Kostyuk highlighted Wilson’s growing presence in women’s tennis fashion with the Headliner Dress, one of the brand’s top releases this year.
The dress features a blue gradient print, square neckline, slim racerback, and breathable perforations on the sides and back. A shimmery power mesh skirt adds elegance, while moisture-wicking fabric, an integrated bra with removable pads, and built-in compression shorts with side pockets provide performance and comfort.
Earlier this year, during the Sunshine Swing, Kostyuk wore a stunning purple version of this design, which also caught our attention. Sleek grey and beige versions of the Spring Headliner Dress are available as well and are currently discounted at Tennis Warehouse.
The Ukrainian plays an active role in the design process and credits Wilson for giving her more creative freedom than her previous sponsors. This approach is apparently working wonders. As Kostyuk explained: “When I had contracts with other companies, I didn’t participate as much, not even close. So that feels great, because yeah I have to compete in it. I obviously wanted to look good too.”
Kostyuk doesn’t just compete and train in Wilson kits, she also wears them off the court. She told the media, “A lot of dresses, you can wear them even outside. There are some dresses that I just wear to go out for dinner or whatever. It’s very cool, because you can do both, in a way. I think that’s very beautiful for the sport and very elegant.”
Kostyuk’s collaboration with the Chicago-based manufacturer runs so deep that Wilson even designed her wedding dress in 2023. She explained: “Wilson has always supported my dreams on the court, but my relationship with the brand goes far beyond tennis. A big shout out and huge thank you to the talented team there that worked around my demanding tour schedule to make another dream come true; a custom, one-of-a-kind wedding dress that turned out even more amazing than I could have imagined.”
Kostyuk complements her dress with the Intrigue Tour, Wilson’s first high-performance tennis shoe designed exclusively for women.
Do you agree this is one of the most beautiful tennis dresses of the year? Have you noticed how Wilson is stepping up its game in WTA fashion? Moreover, with rising star Victoria Mboko recently winning the Montreal title, their designs are getting more attention than ever.
