Looking as confident as ever while lip-syncing a viral Nicki Minaj quote, Aryna Sabalenka recently unveiled the highly revealing Nike fishnet dress she will debut at the US Open. However, the bold look left many tennis fans unimpressed, with online critics swiftly labeling the outfit “trashy” and “tacky.”

The mesh-forward aesthetic is part of an ongoing technical push from Nike. The brand previously integrated a similar open-knit design into Serena Williams‘ custom Wimbledon kit to showcase its new Radical AirFlow technology, engineered to maximize breathability and keep athletes cool. While Naomi Osaka is expected to adopt a similar high-ventilation silhouette in New York, Sabalenka’s iteration features a far more daring cut that has drawn heavy criticism.

Social media backlash across the Tennis Forum and X was relentless.

“That might be one of the worst outfits I’ve ever seen,” wrote one forum member.

“Not gonna lie, I kinda love that Nike is trolling Sabalenka with this,” another added.

“Nike why do you hate her, what is it?” a person commented on X.

“They attached a fishing net to her RG kit and called it a day. Sabalenka needs to quit with the Stockholm syndrome she has with Nike. Stand up!” another user posted.

Even loyal supporters expressed their conflict over the design.

“I still haven’t gotten over Sabalenka’s look, I swear. Worse still, she must have weighed in on it for sure, and the fact that she accepted this whole thing is just as bad as Nike suggesting it. Sabalenka is kinda tacky, you know… do I still love her? Yes!” one fan wrote.

While the criticism is harsh, we have to admit the visual roasts are hilarious. See for yourself:
