While Caroline Wozniacki is running the New York Marathon and other WTA players are relaxing at home or at exotic locations, there are still those sweating on the competitive tennis courts and one of them is Andrea Petkovic who has won her third title of 2014, after Charleston and Bad Gastein, by beating Flavia Pennetta in the final of the Garanti Koza WTA Tournament of Champions 1-6 6-4 6-3. Actually, the season is not over for the German yet, as next weekend she will play the Fed Cup final with her teammates against the Czech Republic in Prague.
The fourth-seeded Petkovic started today’s final as if she was drained, quickly giving away the first set, but she slowly clawed back and took the second set by virtue of one break and in the decider she won six of the last seven games against the third-seeded wildcard Pennetta.
En route to the champion’s trophy, the 27-year-old Petkovic wore the Adidas by Stella McCartney Barricade NY Tank in soft powder with ginger and night metallic details and the accompanying flounce-hem skirt. (photo: Tennis TV)
Ines, it’s definitely a great win for Petko! Regarding the outfit, I loved the collection when I first saw it, but now I’ve seen it too many times.
I am so happy about Petko’s win. But I don’t like her outfit at all.
