Fans at the 2017 US Open were treated to another dramatic Maria Sharapova match on Wednesday as the 2006 champion fought her way past Timea Babos into the third round. After a thrilling three-set night encounter with Simona Halep on Monday, Sharapova once more put her famous fighting spirit on display, turning her luck around after dropping the first set and trailing in the second, much to the enjoyment of the Arthur Ashe Stadium crowd.

Because she was a doper who make a comeback while you just someone among millions other who keep asking the same stupid question….
Because some people support the win at all cost ethics and are fine with this. If a player is marketable the rules of fair competition do not apply.
I kind of like the day version Masha is donning..sort of a Audrey Hepburn Breakfast at Tiffany’s or Lauren Bacall (I am dating myself here;) ). During the third set she took off the left black sleeve revealing some kinesio tape, a la Li Na.
Who cares about her? She is just another doper. Like Mariano Puerta.
Gotta agree with some of the above comments. The coverage and support I see for Sharapova here and other places is nagl.
The likes of Venus/Garbine/Petra etc better beat her if none of her other opponents do, she shouldn’t even be here let alone in the final.
I love Julia’s dress. Btw, Maria had a great run even though she lost in the R4.
