Retired Israeli tennis star Shahar Peer and her husband Eilon Ram welcomed their second child.
The 33-year-old Peer announced the baby news on Instagram on January 28, by sharing a family photo where we can see the tiny hand of her newborn daughter. We knew that the former WTA world No.11 was pregnant, as in August she showed us her toddler son holding an ultrasound picture and revealed that she was expecting a girl.
One of my Twitter followers helped me translate Peer’s caption and told me that the baby’s name is July (pronounce as “Yuli”), which is the name of Peer’s late grandmother.
Peer retired from tennis in February 2017. In July 2018 she married heart surgeon Eilon Ram in a small ceremony in the north of Israel.
