This spring Venus Williams relaunched her clothing line EleVen, that had suffered due to the bankruptcy of its initial exclusive retailer Steve & Barry’s. The American is now making another step forward, taking her EleVen sportswear to New York Fashion Week.
Venus is still fresh off her Olympic women’s doubles golden success, but we know she is planning an unconventional show for September 12, while the exact location is yet to be determined.
I’m not sure of the exact location because I just got back from the Olympics. I’m still getting updated. Who am I? Where am I? Why?
Five years ago Venus received an associate degree in Fashion Design from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale.
Today, Venus advanced to the quarterfinals of the Western & Southern Open, beating seventh seed Sara Errani 6-3 6-0 in the third round. Seed No.3 Samantha Stosur is awaiting Venus in the quarterfinals.
Have a look at our yearly overviews of Venus’ EleVen designs in 2011, 2010, 2009 and 2008. Note that in 2012 Venus has given up the infamous lace, fringe and awkward designs, directing the path of her brand towards more elegant and toned-down style.

Bravo Venus. She’s evolved from cheek to chic.
I agree: cheeky, whichever way turn it.
