Yesterday I showed you the Adidas dress Ana Ivanovic will wear at the upcoming Wimbledon, and now let’s take a look at the Adidas by Stella McCartney Barricade line to be modeled on the grass courts by Caroline Wozniacki, Laura Robson, Andrea Petkovic and Maria Kirilenko.
While Ivanovic’s dress is highlighted by a see-through wave that makes her bra visible, Stella featured a large gaping on the bottom part of the back. Groundbreaking fashion moves on Adidas’ part this summer! When you can’t experiment with color, you have to make sure to stand out with the design. Now we can say that Nike’s Wimbledon 2013 looks are very classic, while EleVen by Venus Williams found the perfect balance with the geometrical pattern on the racer back (too bad that Venus today withdrew from the tournament due to a back injury!).
Besides the short-sleeve shirts, the collection features a tank, available in white and teal, as well as a polo.
All the tops can be combined with a classic white skirt with pleats on the side. (source: The Slice)
Marija, do you have any idea what Wozniacki will be wearing? 😀
Personally, I don’t like them that much. The skirt and polo are pretty basic, so nothing’s wrong about that.
But the back of the T-shirt, the grayish part below the gap. That looks like an extra pair of bums to me?? And the tanks.. well, I personally don’t like the lowered front with the mesh above. I always feel like there was too few fabric, or the size was too small 😛
But hey, these are just modelling pictures, so maybe they will surprise me whenever seeing the parts on the players.
Tenniz-fan, I can make an assumption – the T-shirt (first two photos) and the skirt. Let’s wait and see… 🙂
Liz, Ivanovic’s dress is a much more successful experiment than Stella’s designs, but I give thumbs up for the factor of surprise.
I don’t like the first shirt, I’m pretty sure it will look bad on players… As for the others, tanks look really cool. 🙂
Hey Marija, I’m currently watching Radwanska at Rosmalen.. but did you see Lotto’s wimbledon dress? It’s imo almost the same as the Nike dress of a couple of years ago… with the white and navy combi: bow on the buste and ruffles on the side. Just google it, you’ll see the images I mean….
Liz, yes, I’ve seen it in your post in Women’s Tennis Fans on FB. Good observation on your part!
Haha, I know 🙂 I was just very surprised. And when googling to compare I found out I wasn’t the only one…
