Alisa Kleybanova: “My game keeps on getting better”

Alisa Kleybanova has been active these two weeks, playing with the Springfield Lasers on her Mylan World Team Tennis debut, teamed up with Vania King, Andy Roddick, Rik De Voest and Jean-Julien Rojer. Answering to Tennis Reporters on Twitter, Kleybanova said:

My game keeps on getting better and I’m enjoying the atmosphere so much! I wish the season would never end!

The Springfield Lasers secured a place in the Western Conference Championship on Monday and have an opportunity to claim the No.1 seeding with a win Tuesday evening against Sacramento Capitals.

The Russian is still warming up for her return to the WTA Tour – after her recovery from Hodgkin’s lymphoma diagnosed in spring 2011, she had a brief comeback in Miami in 2012, then went through the qualifying and won eight straight matches to lift the $10,000 Landisville ITF trophy this spring.

I’m waiting for her to get back to the Tour. I think she belongs there and I believe that she will do her full-comeback to there in 2014. That’s my guess 😀

Kleybanova is on the entry list to play Toronto, Cincinnati and the US Open using her protected ranking.

It will be great to see her playing competitively again, she was always one of my favourite players!
