Adidas reveals Roland Garros looks for Muguruza, Kerber & Wozniacki

Adidas took to Instagram to announce the collection ready for the 2019 French Open and beyond. The new clothes are black and white with bright blue accents and prominent mesh sections.

In Paris, Garbine Muguruza will wear a stunning black pleated dress featuring mesh below chest and a contrasting white waistband with drawcord. The pleats include stylish blue squares at bottom hem.

Caroline Wozniacki and Angelique Kerber are showcasing the new separates, which follow the same principles as the rest of the collection.

One thing everyone is noticing is that top-ranked Naomi Osaka is not included in the campaign. Is it a sign that she’s indeed moving to the Uniqlo camp or does Adidas believe that the above players are more marketable than the two-time Grand Slam champion and reigning No.1?

Seeing that both Wozniacki and Muguruza will replace their Parley outfits with this new collection, I wonder who will wear the Summer 2019 Adidas by Stella McCartney collection that includes a pink leopard print. I was really looking forward to seeing those bold designs in action on a top player.

You can purchase the new Adidas apparel at Tennis Warehouse USA and Tennis Warehouse Europe.

  1. Is it really for Roland Garros or only for clay court before FO ? It’s unusual that the French Open collection is worn before the Slam… Maybe the aSMC designs are for it ?

  2. This collection is wearing by Ostapenko and Petkovic this week in Charleston but in other colors. I don’t think that collection will be for the French Open.

  3. I don’t think that this is for Roland Garros because I’ve never seen a Slam outfit worn by the players before the slam starts. I think it’s just for the clay season even though I tought that the players will wear the matchcode collection for the clay courts.

  4. Guys, I wrote that it is for Roland Garros because in the comments Adidas replied to one person: “Clay court styling for Paris and beyond.” Last year, Naomi Osaka introduced a brand new outfit at Roland Garros, but her previous look was present from Miami onwards. Caroline Wozniacki, who wore aSMC throughout the season, wore one dress in Indian Wells, Miami, Istanbul, Madrid and Rome and then debuted a black dress at Roland Garros. Note, this year they all wore Parley from the Australian Open all the way through IW and Miami. I will correct this article if this turns out to be false info, but I think that Adidas’ comment on Instagram is relevant enough and that I haven’t misinterpreted it.

  5. Hello,What about adidas’player outfits in Charleston? I haven’t seen anything on tennis warehouse

  6. Thanks Marija for your explanation ! I missed that Adidas comment 🙂 (and I kinda hoped it would not be the RG outfits…)

  7. Valentina, I’m sure they’ll be available in the coming days, when Adidas.com releases them as well.

  8. Okay… So they will wear these colors (black, blue and white) at the French Open and gray & pink at Charleston, Stuttgart, Madrid and Rome?

  9. I don’t like the blue squares on the hem. It looks nice in a photo but I think that when the player is running around it would flash in front of your eyes. It’s good for the outfits to have an interesting design, but you don’t want it to distract you from what the player is doing. If it was just a blue stripe it would be ok. Don’t like the pink leopard for the same reason, although I do like the black/blue and white dress next to it.
