Former Wimbledon champion Marion Bartoli has become public with her boyfriend Yahya Boumediene, a 29-year-old Belgian soccer player of Moroccan descent.
The 34-year-old Bartoli posted this photo from the Dubai Aquarium on Instagram today, saying:
I love you more and more each day.
Bartoli had been hinting that she had a special person in her life and during Roland Garros she decided to make the relationship public, when the couple was seen hugging in the stands of the Frenchwoman’s home Grand Slam.
Bartoli’s Instagram story highlights feature a “Mon amour” folder, where she’s expressing how much she’s happy and in love with Boumediene.
In an interview with Pure People in April this year, Bartoli mentioned her previous toxic relationship that destroyed her (the ex was belittling her, calling her fat and not good enough in tennis) and revealed her newfound happiness, while still not mentioning the identity of her boyfriend:
I had a chance to meet someone who is completely different from the person I had lived with, so now I know what it really feels like to be in love with someone and to love someone. I realize how much I did not love that person with whom I lived, because I don’t feel the same deep down inside compared to what I felt at the time.
Bartoli went through a lot with that destructive relationship and life-threatening health problems, so she’s more than deserved some piece of mind and a loving partner in her life. I’m wishing her a harmonious and fulfilling relationship that will hopefully be crowned with a long-lasting marriage.
