The WTA pleasantly surprised tennis fans by releasing a new lives scoring app for iOS and Android devices.

As if the 2020 season wasn’t bad enough, after months of disrupted calendar, the horrible tennis year was sealed in December with the news that the WTA/ATP Live Score App was being discontinued across all mobile and desktop platforms. At the time, the ATP introduced their own app, while women’s tennis fans were left without an option to keep track of results. Even the WTA players were expressing their frustration by not being able to follow the scores.

Four months later, the WTA is offering a solution.

A brand new mobile app delivers live updates from WTA tournaments worldwide. Besides live scores, the app gives women’s tennis fans access to completed results, schedule of play, updated draws, SAP match stats, weekly WTA rankings and the Porsche Race to Shenzhen Leaderboard.

I have an Android phone and I couldn’t find the app in the Play Store, but I downloaded it via this link. At first glance, it looks great to me. I haven’t really used it yet, so I can’t give you my impressions. The only thing is that the download process was quite difficult, because the app is still not showing in the app store, at least not for me.

The WTA and ATP are now working on an enhanced joint live scoring app due for release in early 2022.
