As announced last week, Simona Halep‘s wedding ceremony took place on Wednesday, September 15. The WTA star said “yes” to her long-time partner Toni Iuruc in her hometown of Constanta.
After her fourth-round loss to Elina Svitolina at the US Open, Halep headed to Romania to finalise her marriage preparation. As the 29-year-old was getting ready to exchange vows with the wealthy businessman, Halep posted on Instagram photos of her wedding dress. The modest, romantic design features a beige mock-neck lace torso with elbow-length sleeves and the skirt that flows to the floor.
About three hundred friends and family members were in attendance. The two-time Grand Slam champion’s coach Darren Cahill wasn’t there, but he sent love to the newlyweds via social media:
Congratulations and big hugs to you both. An amazing couple. Have a great celebration with family and friends tonight!

Halep and Iuruc have been together for about three years. The first time I wrote about their relationship was in October 2019 and even at that time there were talks about their marriage. The 42-year-old Iuruc is a multimillionaire, originally from North Macedonia. He was married twice before.
