Hsieh Su-Wei has arrived in Prague with long-time boyfriend Frederic Aniere to visit friend and former doubles partner Barbora Strycova.
Retired tennis star Strycova shared online a couple of photos, excited to show that her friends visited her in the Czech Republic and met her two-month-old baby boy Vincent.
“Finally back together with Hsieh Su-Wei and Frederic Aniere, we missed you guys,” the 35-year-old Strycova wrote on Instagram. “Enjoy Prague and, Su-Wei, don’t freeze.”

The current doubles world No.3 Hsieh flew to the Czech Republic fresh off her run to the doubles final at the Akron WTA Finals Guadalajara, where she was teamed up with Belgian Elise Mertens.
Hsieh Su-Wei met her boyfriend Frederic Aniere in Paris in 2016. Here’s how the tennis player described their first meeting in an interview four years ago:
In Taiwan we don’t have a professional tennis court so I always travelling to somewhere to practice with my coach and then my friend last year she introduced me to her friend. She said ‘oh I have a friend in Paris he can take you out for fun’ and then we just go out to eat, with my team not just me, and then things work.
After about a year of dating, Aniere gave up his eight-year real estate career to travel full-time on the WTA Tour. He joined Hsieh’s traveling team in 2017. He used to play tennis recreationally and grew up near Roland Garros, the Grand Slam Hsieh won in doubles with Peng Shuai in 2014.
The 35-year-old Hsieh has clinched four major doubles titles, including Wimbledon 2019 won with Barbora Strycova. Hsieh and Strycova won a total of nine doubles titles together. Both have held the No.1 WTA doubles ranking.
Hsieh Su-wei is the ultimate doubles partner. She has won with a lot of partners, including Peng Shuai who is currently in the news for “not being seen”. It’s funny that partnership probably dissolved because of the Chinese government not approving of Peng teaming up with someone from Taiwan.
