Sascha Bajin thinks Serena Williams is not done with competitive tennis

Serena Williams‘ former long-term hitting partner Sascha Bajin has a feeling that this is not the end of the 23-time Grand Slam champion’s tennis career.

Even though Williams bid farewell to tennis at the 2022 US Open, the lingering feeling is that it was not the end. The WTA player only confirmed our doubts when she gave ambiguous answers to retirement questions in New York: “I’m gonna stay vague, cause you never know.”

It looks like Sascha Bajin, who knows Serena very well, also has a feeling that we’re going to see more from the tennis legend, as he wrote on Twitter:

I saw that lots of you guys wrote me why I haven’t made a post about Serena’s retirement. Let’s say it like this, I just don’t think she’s done. ???? I don’t know anything you don’t know but something tells me we gonna see her again.

What we can say with certainty is that this was indeed Serena’s last US Open, but the tennis community wouldn’t be surprised to see her again in Australia. After all, she still has gas left in the tank — she beat world No.2 Anett Kontaveit at Flushing Meadows, playing only her sixth match back this year.

  1. Serena said “welcome to the retirement club” on her latest instagram post, when she posted about Roger Federer. I think it was her first time actually saying “retirement”.

Thats the proof, it’s offical. She’s done.
Sad, but looking forward to seeing whats in the future for her and her family
